Update on life

Well, its been a few months since I’ve posted anything on the blog. Ive had quite a lot of things going on with the move and with a transition into a new workplace. So I want to fill you in!

Work: I currently work at a Christian School in California and Im loving every minute of it! The kids I work with are amazing. I’ve been able to implement some things Ive learned from my masters classes (more on that later) and from videos, seminars, and books that Ive watched and read over the summer. Lets just say that, “That was fun, I want to do another problem” or “Oh man, time to go already? I wanted to keep learning” are comments very rarely heard, especially in junior high and highschool math room. I’ve heard them at least four times in the last month. This is an absolute blessing, and can only have been God working in the classroom. My workplace is amazing and I love all my coworkers. I have been absolutely blessed with this transition.

College: I was recently accepted into Maranatha’s Seminary program to continue my education. I am still getting my Masters of Education in Teaching and Learning (yes, that’s the full name), but Ive also added a biblical counseling concentration to it. I’m halfway done with one of the counseling classes and I’m already set up to go for the second one. Gods been good to me by allowing me to keep up in the classes and jump back in to learning after the move.

Goals: I have two big ones that are in progress. I have officially gotten braces! This is a big step for me being in the twenties and teaching. However, the kids are getting a kick out of it. I’m glad I was able to finally hit a goal I’ve been striving for. The second one is just now getting started and I’m not sure where it will go from here. I am currently inquiring about EMT training. It is my desire to become a volunteer EMT and there are a few program options where I’m located that would allow me to train without me taking time off of teaching. I’m not sure the direction from here, but this goal is starting on the runway and I’m excited to see what doors God opens and closes.

Current hobbies: I’ve taken some time off of writing and have instead thrown myself into research for my WIP “Serpents and Stardust” (formerly known with the working title : The Battle for Asmia). I have also begun world building for my new pirate WIP. there is no working title on that one yet. Hopefully, I’ll have an update for you guys by the next KDWC. I am also currently participating in this years Inktober drawing challenge. If you arent sure what that is, search Inktober on Instagram. maybe I’ll see you participating too!

Anyways, that’s a long enough update. Hopefully, Ill have a few more posts coming up in the following weeks. KDWC is also opening in a couple weeks. If you would like to join, the links will be below! Hope to see you there!

  1. Wow! You have certainly been busy. Moving, teaching school, attending a master’s program and looking to train as a volunteer EMT. A full plate. Blessings!
